A Prayer To My Lord (Poem) Poem by Dave Tanguay

A Prayer To My Lord (Poem)

Lord I ask you to deliver me from evil
Let me witness a great social upheaval

Where people in society turn to peace and love
Living by the rules of the man up above

Yes Lord I ask you to show us the light
Let every man and woman be delivered from fright

The world and all its marvel is at our command
Delivered to us - by the grace of your hand

Goodness and mercy rule over injustice
For by your word we are committed to find justice

Love your neighbor as yourself was your greatest
Command
Why is this rule so hard to understand?

I’m standing on the promises Lord - build a place for me
I come to you dear God - on bended knee

This prayer I offer - hear my words dear Lord
Upon your chariot - I will climb aboard
