A Psalm Poem by Victoria Davis

A Psalm

I step into the warm night
and in the presence of the Earth,
in the company of the Stars
I thank the Creator of All.
I whisper my praise and gratitude
for renewal of life
and for answered prayer.

Oh Creator, I lift my voice to You;
For,
of the uncountable prayers
addressed to You,
You chose to answer mine,
saying 'wait, and you will see.'
And though my patience was imperfect,
I have seen.

I am but one small piece of Your creation,
and have done nothing to deserve this blessing;
Instead, I have asked much and given only what was easy.

Through Your Grace,
You do not weigh what we truly deserve,
You grant us much.
You understand our needs,
You hear the prayers of our lips,
You discern the unspoken ache of our hearts
and in Your way,
in Your time,
respond with
perfect love.

In the presence of the Earth,
in the company of the Stars
I thank the Creator of All.
I shout my praise with joy and gratitude -
for renewal of life
and answered prayer.
