A Question To Ponder… Poem by T.James Becker

A Question To Ponder…

Rating: 5.0

A Question to ponder…

A brush fire ravages the hillside
Leaving ash instead or greenery
We sow seeds and plant anew

Floods wash over the lands
Property is damaged and mud soaked
Water subsides we clean, refurbish and rebuild

Tornado's toss houses like toys
Broken lives and displaced people
We reconstructed homes and lend a hand

So is it better to have loved and lost?
Ever has it been that love knows not its own depth
Until the hour of separation
With what materials do we repair a heart?

An excellent poem, T.J. I have loved and lost and have loved again. True love does not die with the loved one though. I am a better person for the true loves in my life. This one gets a ten from me. Regards Ron

You know I love all your work. We are better off to have loved and lost even if the experience was not good. We can learn from those mistakes and try it again. (smile)

Love is the only medicine to repair a heart dear TJ. Excellant piece. I appreciate your thought.

A wonderful simile paired with nature's destructions. I do feel that we are, in many cases, better off to have loved and lost as long as it wasn't a horrible experience. It's part of life and helps us to move on down the path that we have to take anyway. Loved this poem, TJ! Keep writing and sharing with us. A '10! ' Warm Wishes, Marilyn
