A Raven's Heart Poem by Caitlyn Williams

A Raven's Heart

We all look for that one spec of hope in the midst of a storm. Fighting for our souls in the middle of a black ocean that tosses us around like a useless ragdoll. Screams and terror surround us. Tragedy succumbs to loneliness. Anger succumbs to a great hunger for revenge. Happiness may surpass loneliness for some people. Nightmares and fear will consume us, and paint our hearts black. Begging and pleading to it to release us from it's cold grasp. Sometimes a desperate plea may turn into sympathy for the lucky ones. Like a raven, trying to find a way out of a dark chasm. Looking.....searching. For a way out of this nightmare. There is no easy way out. It eventually buries us deep underneath the cold, hard ground. We can't give up.. We have to fight for what we stand for and never back down............because....we all reap what we sow in the end...
