A Reason Poem by Alexis Wolfe

A Reason

Rating: 2.5

Your words break the growing silence but their meaning I do not hear.
You have broke me already, another lie I cannot bear.
I love you, is what the words are, but from your mouth they sound like hate.
My silent cries fill our bed at night, but you just continue to sleep soundly.
Give me a reason to hold onto you
Give me something to fight for.
Take my heart and make it beat, or leave it in a box of doubt.
Take my soul and crush it with your words, or let it fly.
Give me a reason to keep dreaming of you.
Take my hollowness and fill it with light.
I take your pain, can you please take mine?
