A Reason To Smile Poem by BiggRich Shuping

A Reason To Smile

I'm not gonna write a sad poem
I'm not gonna dwell in the debris
Of my dejection
But I'm gonna subject this burning urge
To cry to purgery and rejection
And find a way to locate within myself
A reason to smile

Dispondacy has no place
In my room of jubilation
For within myself lies in slumber
A surviver of gloom and tribulations
And as I wake him up
I'll find in his strength
A reason to smile

I am him a child of God
And in Him I find comfort
Well not in my eyes tears
I charge you
Weigh off my soul depletion
I command you
For I am the authority of my joy
I am in myself a reason to smile

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem came to me while I was asleep. It was like someone was whispering in the ears of my mind in effort to cheer me up as I went to bed sad after I spoke on the phone to my estranged pregnant girl friend trying to make things right for the sake of our unborn baby. She was rude and spoke unkindly to me.
