A Republic Day In Aristocratic India! Poem by Veeraiyah Subbulakshmi

A Republic Day In Aristocratic India!

Rating: 5.0

The government for the people,
The government by the people,
The government for us, exhausted,
Whims of fancies well corrupted.

People are on the street to protest,
No one is satisfied with the bread toast,
Our land is barren, can't impregnate,
We, republicans, are contented with shuffle.

When our thoughts are shackled with non violence,
We are tamed and have the fear of annoyance,
The imported documents speak louder and firmer,
We keep vigil to save our country from disaster.

We wear the garments to show our orientation,
We are too divided to get united to be compassionate,
We stand on different hills, calling ourselves secular,
Our aristocratic middle and upper class still manipulate.

A VERY NICE POEM FOR OUR TIMES. At least will such digs in poem reach the ears of the manipulators?
