A Sax And Pink Satin Pyjamas Poem by Deborah White

A Sax And Pink Satin Pyjamas

I played a buskers saxophone
in my pink satin pyjamas;
On a lovely summers evening,
outside the Pantheon in Rome.
One of the greatest thrills of my life
time I didn’t want those few moments
to end. And I didn’t want to ever
go home.

I wish that magical time in Rome
in the beautiful Pantheon Square
could be captured and savoured
forever, it was so special and so
gloriously rare. Charming, ever-
lasting latin memories, gently
tangled in my Anglo-Saxon hair.

I dream that one day I might
play a buskers saxophone in
Paris in the spring time in the
warm Parisian rain. Playing
on the steps of Notre Dame's
Cathedral; on a busker’s tarnished
sax. Ave Maria, on the banks of the
Seine. Will bring those wonderful
Rome memories flooding back to
me, all over again.
