A Sense Of Immortality Poem by Pete Rivera

A Sense Of Immortality

Rating: 5.0

The truth has hid its ugly head from us
And now I'm caught in a lie
Will I die?
A sense of immortality has showed up
At my doorstep and I'm willing to take it
Willing to take it all
Now it's my call

Will you forgive me now
For all the things I've said
Will you let them go
The promises I swore I kept
Forget and accept

Just forget and accept
Forget and accept
Forget about
All the things
That make you cry
Forget about
All the ones who told you lies
It's me

Now I was the one hanging at your door
And I was the one you were waiting for
So what are you waiting for?
There's no one to stop you
No one to bring you down
Open up your eyes
I'm still standin here
Show me a smile
Don't show me fear
Be who you are
Be who you are
I will hold you in my arms
Safe from harm
Always..
