A Sine Die Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

I wish to go to oblivion for simple reason
I might have nothing to offer as person
Even nature change with the arrival of season
I could perform nothing as father, husband or son

Seized with all the problems around
Body so feeble and health not so sound
I can’t witness any change when go for round
It is mental state that observes the change but can’t be found

I want to observe truce and make it as “Sine die”
Not to go for honest way but always lie
It may take long time for attitudinal change
What can be written on fresh or blank page?

Let all the activities come to an abrupt end
Let it lie low until positive signals are sent
It is of no use to indulge in destruction
Let from heart be the clear mandate or instruction

It is long way to come out of it in real sense
You should be comfortable in its presence
It is how you tackle and counter for its absence
It must be buried deep under ground

It is better not to act when seized with indecision
Conscience should try to act with near precision
It need not bite or hurt at any of the day
It should allow us to find new way

How do we desist ourselves for bad performance?
Can we cheat our sweet heart at the time of romance?
Do we go ahead with impurity in mind and function?
Why can’t we have one single point or junction?

If we are not sure of ourselves then it is better to avoid
Let everything be thought over and properly laid
If it is required to be put off for some more times to come
It should always be considered as good step and we must welcome

It is nice to be away then to act with dishonest means
There will always be setbacks and no clear win
It is designed to give you momentary joy
You may miss the charm and never fully enjoy


It c an be revived at appropriate time and level
You may be able to live in open and marvel
There won’t be any hitch and you may excel
You may have clear soul devoid of any barter or sale

So the ambition wishes can be given sine die
You may have inactive life but not so live
It may bite you all the time and cause discomfort
It may be best way to go in for it without being mentally hurt
