A Single Rose Poem by Nicole GravellPellerino

A Single Rose

Rating: 0.5

When reality turns to memory
A single rose stands apart
Its bright petals turn to gray
The color drains
But the flower remains
The single rose keeps the memory alive
Tears from the eyes
Drip the color away
Creating a puddle of red
A single rose dulled
It stands alone
Apart from others
Beautifully gray and original
The single rose reminds us
Of the past days
In which the tears drained the colors away
A red puddle stands motionless
Below that brittle rose
The petals wither away
Falling one by one
Floating peacefully upon that puddle
They soak up what was lost
Revived with color
Sitting on the ground untouched
The stems still remains
Hung up and dry
That's when the single rose turns memory into reality
