A Sinking Heart Poem by Emmanuel Adekunle

A Sinking Heart

My heart sinks within thoughts
fear, sorrow and pain hurts
despite the power and strength
and the success of a long length
the heart keeps flowing inside water
can it be mend with sweet bread and butter?
the idea of the past is not yet gone
forsake me and let me be
alone
coquettes and my paramours are buying me tickets
they are digging deep into me like crickets
i can't lie, love is sweet and
bitter
i told my friend twice, his name is peter
i love music but we have good and bad ones
i love the two at once
i can't continue with the bad music
i'm trying but my heart is so weak
my heart keeps on sinking
rescue me less i stop living
