A Sinned Boy Poem by Shemsi Elsani

A Sinned Boy

Alone he sat, on that very beach
The beach where everything started
In the evening, when it's rained so heavily
Once, long ago, into the past
The evening that has caged him
To be there, again, at this very moment

It's dark when he cycled down
Ran down along the beach
In the rain that cold to the bone
With tears came down on his cheek
For his heart has been broken
So deep it's hurt, too much to bear

He kept running, till his legs gave away
Stumbled upon a drenched sand
Tasted salty on his tongue
His lips bled where they cracked
Red blood spilled out on the sand
Washed away by the running rain
To the distance he cared not

The rain poured down onto his body
As if washed him down to the purity
For he has sinned to the mortal
Left him with nothing but hopelessness
Lay him there, sobbing to the agony
Screamed out loud to the rain
Which kept on pouring regardlessly

For he was too young to understand
All those sinful things that has endured
Kneeled down to the desires of evil
There he went to the beach in the evening
Cycled his new bike away to the fastest
Without the care in the world
Went he away to the darkness
Fallen to the deepest of the unforgiven sin

Out of sudden he was there, running
On that familiar beach, again
All naked in the coldness of the rain
For he was looking for forgiveness
Calling out the only name he'd ever known
Who cared so much for his entire life
For who he has betrayed thoughtlessly

A cherub came along miraculously Stroking his wavy black hair gracefully
Gave him the clothes of silky white
Wiping his tears away with the softness
Shushed the rain away effortlessly
Smiling onto his cherubic face beautifully
Whispering the sweet words of forgiveness
That soothed away all his hurts and pain
For his father has long forgiven him
