A Sky No Longer Blue Poem by Chris Mena

A Sky No Longer Blue

Rating: 4.5

A Sky No Longer Blue...

I'll pave the pavement with my thoughts of you
I'll wander the streets under a sky no longer blue

Looking in the stars to see your face
No longer do I feel you warm embrace

The things I've done can never be repaired
The ghosts haunt me daily, but I am not scared

I simply look out the window, and lose all consciousness
I'll go quietly, slowly fade into the abyss

Your face stains my memory wherever I go
I'll let the tears fall, I'll let them crash around me so that I can show

You were my everything, my light and dark
The day we took different paths, my heart tore apart

What does it mean to live if you lose part of yourself
Will someone please, anyone, give me some help

I'm screaming in pain, in agony, in fear, but no one can hear
What I have done, what I have become, so fare well my dear

One rose will lay on your doorstep
So when you find it you might not forget

That the rose you found came from what's left of my heart
As I lay my self to rest, ready for my depart

I gaze once more at the sky no longer blue
Thinking to myself, how would life be, if I still had you...
