A Society Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

A Society

Animals
Love Nature
More than
Human beings
For, I too aspire
Lamenting
To get closer
And closer to it.

I find
More and more
Comfort
Like the wild
To become
More and more
Richer
Than the others
Getting
More and more
Natural values
That the civil society
Can’t provide.

I find
More and more
Pleasure
In their natural
Way of life
So certain and firm
Beyond any doubt
In the pathless
Bushy and thorny
Woods.

I find
More and more
Enjoyment
In those lovely
Dark nooks
And corners
In unique
Thickness
Of the woods.

I find
More and more
Graceful a culture
Where-
None infringes
The principles
Of Nature
In universality
Of the woods.

I find
More and more
Sweeter the music
In cool breeze
The wild roars
And chorus sung
Together by
The birds
The animals
Flora and fauna
In the dark woods.

I find
So called cruel
A world
Of the deep woods
Not so cruel
As compared with
The civil society.
