A Song In Olden Times Poem by Maia Padua

A Song In Olden Times

Rating: 5.0

A song of yesteryears
Remains thy melody
That buried sounds
Underneath echo its
symphony

A long-awaited song
Sung in olden times
Like wine of native vine
Its sweetness aged in time
Lingers in every lip
A song divine

Maharlika, my Maharlika
Been longing for change
To come your way
A long-awaited dream
As time has come today
Sings with us leaving a legacy

O Philippines, I hear you weep
As wishful tears flow love sublime
For the young man's dream
Through hundred years
Though almost gone;
Now million dreamers finally found

Their song in olden times
Is my song til next sundown
