A Soul To Weep Poem by C.H. Seow

A Soul To Weep

Rating: 3.0

Gazing at the mirrored me,
I hardly recognize
The soul in me, the truth in me.
It has been years,
Where blissful times had long gone
And those momentous laughter
Had refused to move on,
Leaving me a soul to weep…

Imperfections hammered me down,
Or, at least, that was what my heart said,
Imperfections.
They believed I will be someone,
But someone what?
They said I have something special in me,
But something what?

In my somewhere, sometime,
I dwell and dwell.
A moment of numbed satisfaction,
And then I feel no more.
Will I always be trapped in the untruth promises of my psyche?
And never to reach out for the stars within my reach?

Perhaps, there is someone, something special deep down.
Perhaps, I am fated to veil behind the mask of ignorant,
and painful smiles…

That is going to leave me,
With a soul, to weep…
