A Spell Poem by Emma Adamyan

A Spell

Rating: 2.9

I shall leave you, I shall say - 'Sorry', as a parting,
I shall leave you, but then, you can never find your calming,
I shall leave you without blaming and crying. Silently, all alone,
I shall have to leave you, for my heart can`t stand being a stone.
You will call me. Not a single sound in reply...
Nobody to hug, nobody to touch, even to look at,
No need to effort your sight,
So you will close your eyes and start praying,
For me to come back, to appear, even for dreaming.
Not knowing where to, you will rush on a sad way,
With no hope to find me and make me stay.

Once Autumn will come. You`ll be surrounded with friends,
Someone will talk to you about love wishing benefits,
But no one will share your lonely heart,
For at the very moment I`ll hold my part.
There`s no newness could entice or attract you,
Even if you want, you can`t betray to another you...
Bitter memory will watch by your doors like a warder,
And regrets will hang on your neck like a legal order,
So you will open your arms widely and embrace night air,
At that moment you will realize, you forever lost your Dear.

Oneday Spring will come too,
Refreshing and waking up whole the World,
Roses will break into bloom and daisies rebound,
Dreams will be overfilled with fragrances rich and heady,
The only bitterness of the parting will poison Spring`s beauty.
You will stop on the threshold of an April day,
No rest, no will, no joy you can gain. Yes, like an old band
I`ve vanished, dissappeared at night, like a mark on the sand,
And entrusted you with being in sorrows,
Fighting against the loneliness, trembling like autumn leaves.
So, here`s my spell! Here`s my spell! Here`s my spell!
And may these words come true well!

Here`s my spell
But, may these words never come true well...

I visited Tashkend and Samarkand after the fall of the Soviet Union. They casted a spell those cities on me. This is a great poetic experience.
