A Star's Lament Poem by Margaret Beil

A Star's Lament

Last night when I went walking
It was past witching hour
I travelled many sprightly miles
But stopped to pick a flower
I saw myself enlightened
I thought I was alone
But my kindness and my gratitude
Had turned his heart to stone
You fought off raging blackness
You bade me stallion's reigns
Look out look I heard you say
On deaf ears you complained

You picked me up and swaddled me
In your starlight sail
You shook me for my benefit
Alas to no avail
Wake up wake up your earthlings
See what you have achieved
Your Mother calls out daily
of her cancer's pain
You have only one Mama
But her treatment is disdain
And now go back afore
My starlight is in shade
But please remember, think on this
That even bright stars fade.

wow, you, it is truly amazing. this poem epitimises human endurance and the ernegies that we draw from all things arounds us if I ca go so far as to say the universe. I love the way in which you tie individualism with with the collectivism of the cosmos. the comment that you've written sums this your oem perfectly as I believe that it indicates that we humans are alsways in contact wth the energies of the universe and we need only to listen and we can hear it speak to us. most of my poems and thoughts are trigured by evenst much like you walk with your dog at midnight

It was on taking our dog on my midnight walks, the wind picked up and a bag swirled about in the sky. Such a clear night with many beautiful stars twinkling, Then it struck me, those beautiful night lights would be appalled looking down on the state of our planet(their sibling) and the harm we do to it. It's not to late to change :)
