A Stoic Heart Poem by Chahra Beloufa

A Stoic Heart

Distance chooses a tyrannical strategy
To molest the heart who loves with waiting!

the heart will move; to evanesce;
To disappear in the sky
and be a migratory bird that would lie
In fields of nature;
to think; murmur songs of his languished state!

Dear heart would only preserve the fragile memory
and think with objective terms how
emotions are banned to live;
Escaping this emotions' authoritarianism!

From time to time;
Love needs an urgent abandonment;
for its persistent presence
would but supply the receiver
with ego and egoism!
