A Stranger Called Love Poem by Ben Littlechild

A Stranger Called Love

Rating: 4.5

You see me on the street
A man so plain you will never meet
He that seems so quiet and reserved.
Yet love never found him, love that he deserved.
That man, he that hangs his head and appears wise.
Love has outwitted him, and now its his despise
That makes him just another lonely guy
For love to him is a stranger on the street,
One that never stops to meet and greet.

I like the 'compact' form of this piece. So much expressed in so few, well chosen words. I think it succeeds eloquently in conveying the feelings of the writer.

Absolutely wonderful. A fine piece about what love and poetry are when they first meet. Two strangers. GW62

me too, i enjoyed the flow of this poem.'love that he deserved' and 'love has outwitted him' makes me wonder about the 'man so plain' and his ego. And in a nice way i take issue with a previous poster's 'wonderful and regular guys' No such thing...theres always something going on..under the lonely guy image...trust me on that..
