A Tattoo For Christmas. Poem by Mike Berriman

A Tattoo For Christmas.

I want a Tattoo this Christmas, one that's big and bright
Some multicoloured artwork that will scream the words allright!
You can keep all that barbed wire and the two words love and hate
Don't bother with hearts or Mother or the girlfriends name of Kate.

I don't like lions or leopards or those black and belching guns
Or heavy Chinese characters that say that I'm a bum
I say no to whales and dolphins and I don't like sharks and snakes
I do want something classy, yes! ... no matter what it takes.

Now swallows grow to condors on a pretty back or breast
And those flowers on the ankle grow to gardens and the rest
I would like a Tat poetic or at least a bit of fun
A Tat that is unique....perhaps the setting sun

I wouldn't mind a ballard, but that would take some ink
And lots of words and letters would make crowds stop and think
I think it best, I am inspired, to make my Tat fantastic
I'll pick the spot, and give my lot, for a Tattoo that is plastic.
