A Thing Called Love Poem by Danel Van Wyk

A Thing Called Love

Look at wherewe are today
Can not believe I almost threw it away
Blaming myself for those hateful days
But then again, my heart was stuck in a maze.

Only realizing now how much I love you
How much you have meant to me from the start
I know now why we have pulled through
It is because we were never meant to part

All the time we spent fighting
It is a total waste of time
At least we did it from the beginning
Thinking of me, and all I did was wine

It brought us both here today
And this time it is meant to stay
For it teaches us to love one
And it can also leave us with none.

It helps us realize what we can have in life
It makes our hearts go open to what we can loose
Loosing someone through it stings like a knife
Setting your life asail in an endless cruise

The thing is love
The thing we associate with a dove
The thing I do you
The thing is I love You
