A Thought Poem by Amitava Sur

A Thought

Rating: 5.0

In the saddened light, beamed by the descending sun
Don't make your heart heavy and go on moaning.
Don't even feel to be faded and decayed -
At this mid - way of your mortal life.

Better, you fill your mind and soul -
With simplicity in the serenity of dawn.

May your fatigued and the aging mind -
Get back your vibrant and merry childhood,
With all the laughter and freedom you had -
Very tender, sinless and pretty juvenile.

May the sail of your life's boat -
Get a strong wind from the nor-wester,
To move ahead to an amazing land
with your knowledge and wisdom for delight.

May your mortal and short lived life -
Get back that delightful heart-
A heart of an innocent holy child -
With no fear and head held high.

May this life discover that priceless jewel-
A greed-less, sinless, and a pious holy life.

Cherish the child that is still within us and look at this world with wonder always, to allow the sun to light our way paved with love and joy, may our light never fade! ! Captivating write! !

Oh, if we only could retrieve our innocence and purity of childhood, so much happier we would be. Our inner child is beautiful and deserving of living life fully once again through our wonderful memories. It was such a simple life back then, filled with love, happiness and joy, not the pain and suffering of growing older that we have become accustomed to. A very poignant and thought-provoking poem, Amitava, with your unique flair of philosophy as an added touch to your meaning. Great poem, I enjoyed reading it! ! Thank you, RoseAnn

This is a sagacious thought on life and its priorities! Instead of losing oneself in gloomy thoughts, find out where real beauty and peace lie! Our excessive preoccupation with hoarding of wealth and power cannot give us lasting happiness! What is needed is a sinless, greedless life! ! Enjoyed!

A poignant thought, if only we could retrieve our lost innocence. But being human, we would then be yearning to repeat those moment which originally created the loss. well expressed Amitava.
