A Time Traveller Poem by RAJ NANDY

A Time Traveller

Rating: 2.9

A TIME TRAVELER
I am a time traveler, traveling in space
and time,
Through my past, present and future, -
Leaving everything behind!
But when I travel to my past, time freezes up
in little frames,
As if it would forever last, though time never
remains the same!
I stop to view those picture frames of my
memories,
Those snapshots of congealed time, -
Of dream like mysteries!

I am a time traveler, when I project into
future years,
I do so with some trepidation, with my hopes
and fears!
For should I get devoured by the vortex of those
future years,
My traveling will end, as I stand to disappear;
Without getting time, to shed a single tear!

I am a time traveler, impatient with my present,
As this present keeps slipping by, for which I
hardly lament!
For like the true time traveler, I want to break
the shackles of time,
Traveling through blue infinity, where there
shall be no time!

Like a dedicated time traveler let me travel
with my soul,
Freed from past, present, and future tenses, -
traveling totally uncontrolled!
For then I shall become an eternal traveler,
Traveling beyond all space and time;
With nirvana for my soul, - shattering the
bondage of time!

Raj we are all guilty of time travel, then the present is forgotten, not realising it is the only time we live. Now in twilight time, I find it easy not to dwell on time and live mostly Now. However memories still come but only at my command. Bob

Your poem reminded me of a wise saying that goes like this- Yesterday is like a canceled check, tomorrow is a promissory note, but today is ready cash, so use it! ! It's nice to dream about tomorrow and to reminisce the past, but I guess it is wiser to focus of what's present and spend it as if it is your last. I like your poem, It's thought provoking.
