A Tiny Bird I Saw Poem by Maria Haugen

A Tiny Bird I Saw

Rating: 5.0

A tiny bird I saw,
It watched me from day to day,
And I asked; Is there something you wanna say?
- Now the bird sings for me every night.
That bird is you, my friend. You fill my heart with light.

A tiny bird I saw, several years ago.
It sang for my every night,
Until it all of a sudden lost it's light.
I thought you meant 'forever'.
But the bird always sang 'never'.

A tiny bird I saw, a long time ago.
It used to sing, but it's been silent for ages.
Tonight the bird is singing again.
You know why?
Because tonight, you filled my heart again.
You filled it with light.

A tiny bird I saw,
but now I realize;
The bird never sang.
It just told me your lies.
You're a bird my friend.
A migrating bird, I guess..
Cause once you spread your wings and touched the sky.
But you came back to me, my bird.
And now you're singing again.
