'VALORE NOMINALE'

Dietro il sorriso, reso lustro dall'esercizio,
Sta una realtà diversa
Dalla maschera intelligente dell'autoimposto inganno.
Dietro agli occhi, carente della luce della vita
La realtà effettiva è l'unica a risiedere,
Repressa, oscurata, sepolta.
Dell'insulso libro dalla sgargiante copertina
Apri le pagine e leggi tra le righe;
Non comprare l'aspetto al valore nominale.

'FACE VALUE'

Behind the smile, paraded with practice
An alternate reality resides
Clever mask of self-imposed deception
Behind the eyes, lacking the light of life
Actuality is the sole resident
Suppressed, obscured, interred
Insipid book with flamboyant cover
Open the pages and read between the lines
Take not the face at face value
