A Trek Poem by mifael llauderes

A Trek

Rating: 5.0

Tackling on a slippery trail
Up on a high steeping hill
The trunks and twigs
And jutting roots
Are wrapped in
Moss and lichens’ teal

The dripping leaves
That gathered mist
The creepers’,
Hangers’ merry jests
In canopied cool the air is sweet
The ground enough of sunlight sweep

Hmm... everything is clear and proper
Aside from my unwelcome squander
Though I could blend to some extent
Awhile until my awe’s extent
I’d rather not lest I discover
The ways of man’s unscrupulous nature

I’m in the midst of so alive
A massive living wilderness
Borne of the many forms of life
Grew unto one great singleness
That by itself could rule the earth
Away from man’s possessive girth
