written for dad of Sven-Eric van Osch
whose dad passed away last night.

the night is dark but
there are the little stars up there
sparkling and twinkling
there you say you will be
when you are gone

when the sun sets and
my mind wanders to you
they show me the world
has a life even in the dark
even when you are gone

look at how the stars twinkle
and wave to us tonight
they remind me of you dad
that you will be crowning
the sky of our heart day or night
always in your own little way
that endears you to us
now and forever
