A Trojan Soldier Poem by Deepta Protik Osman

A Trojan Soldier

Saddest of the people
Running through the shores,
Black macaws
Covers the sky,
And everything was
Glowing bright.
Mace-faced puppies
Ran through the sand,
And behind was
A Trojan soldier,
A soldier whose running leg is pressed when stopped
Against the beaches beautiful sand.
He ran and then stopped-
I can see him well,
He was like a man from hell.
His armor was bold
And the sword was gold,
On the helmet was written in English:
The City of Troy,
His face was full of joy
And too was sorrow,
After some time he ran away
From the gracious beach,
And I saw them all
Very clear
As if all were
Not so clear.
