A True Friend To The End Poem by Rose C. Devine

A True Friend To The End

Rating: 5.0

There was that shiny new rocking
chair that Mom and Dad had
bought.
To comfort me when I cried, and
they'd hum to me while they
rocked.
When years went by and I
married, the chair was used for
the very same thing.
I rocked each one of the children
and I remember the songs I
would sing.
Now that I'm very much older,
I'm still rocking in that same
rocking chair.
It's no longer new or shiny, just
and old friend whose memories I
share.
