A Useless Battle Poem by Tiya Sen

A Useless Battle

Time and my mind are at war,
And in the process it is me that they devour.
Time washes all the memories,
Mind engraves it deeper in me.
Time pushes you away from me,
Mind pulls me back to you.
Time wipes all the tears dry,
Mind leaves me on my pillow to cry.
Time fills my world with laughter and joy,
Mind grills me for all that time teaches me to enjoy.
Time makes me forward searching for a better sunrise,
Mind brings back the connections infront of my eyes.
Time hold my hand and nurses all the bruises.
Mind, to acknowledge the facts, just refuses.
Time slowly nudges me to unwind.
Mind cunningly sends me into rewind.
Who knows if there will be a winner or call a truce,
But I guess whatever the outcome I can only lose.
