A Voice On The Radio Poem by Don Nguyen

A Voice On The Radio

Because of love, I now reverse the role
I will be more lonely; you will be more comforted
I will spend my time in solitude
Far away from human contact, from the crowds
By restraining from calling you or reading much your poems
I just read enough to nurture the burning feeling
To warm myself with a mild but constant longing
But still engrave in my heart our memories, your image
I did promise I'd be here, a fixture in your life
And I did say I would be the last poet in the serving line
I'm not sure as my presence might not be welcome
But I think my constant presence
Is what will bring you some comfort
So each morning I will send you a poem
to greet you, cheer you, be your companion
and inspire you to write
Then into your shadow, I withdraw, retire
A dedicated presence means everything, I believe
It prevents the decay of a friendship
Into something of distant past,
breaking up the monotony of daily grind
Whenever you long for a friend
I'm here in my write
And I will try to make each one a 'masterpiece'
When you carry out your day, think of me winking
Reach me through words where my soul resides
Reach me in run-away sentences with poor grammar, in thoughts
Reach me by whispering into the wind
for surprisingly I keep hearing someone calling my name

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Note: We are going to give this one-week trial if you agree to it of course. I have been thinking and that's all I could come up with to make your life little more pleasant, less miserable, I am not sure. I don't want our relationship gets so overheated again, so it will be very limited to transition everyone to more healthy and normal life. What do you think?
