A Warm Blanket Poem by noel maddock

A Warm Blanket

‘I’ll give you what you’re not asking for’, he said
‘I can only give you what you’re not asking for’

And all the words banded together
Refused him. His scheming on its knees
But he scorned them. The general. Severs.
Not caring. A warm blanket full of fleas
