A Wealth Derived From Riches Alone Poem by Mark Heathcote

A Wealth Derived From Riches Alone

Money can make you rich beyond compare
Its vault needs guarding the little it does share.
A wealth derived from riches alone
Can be just one-half; of a frugal wishbone.
'The half held back' just maybe, what is longed for?
A poor man's meal can be a bounty no lesser
A poor man gives of his heart and soul
Rich men want a prenuptial agreement.
They need to be loved and in sole control
Lesser men they're passionate and vehement.
Heed little by their store if you forestall
Your hearts kiss their cargo sinks in a squall.
Rich men just charter another voyage.
Into another self-love, in bondage.
