A Wonderful Person Poem by Francis Duggan

A Wonderful Person

Of the welfare of others she genuinely does care
A wonderful person her type are so rare
So humble and charming and a pleasure to meet
No praise is too high for the pride of our street
The one who performs at least one good deed every day
To help those in need of help she goes out of her way
I firmly believe she is one free of taint
And she deserves the title of a living saint
A widow in her early forties with a sole offspring a daughter of nineteen
In the pubs or the nightclubs one who is never seen
Most of her work free hours spent in helping those of help in need
She is such a wonderful person indeed
One who is not burdened by conceit or guile
The beautiful one with a beautiful smile.
