A Word Poem by Paul Butters

A Word

A Word:
A Magic Spell,
Like “Love” or “Death”
Or “Life”,
Is All it takes
To say so Much
Or so Little;
Meaning nothing ’til you Listen
To what I have to Say.

For Love,
Without a Lover’s Kiss,
Is like an empty theatre;

With You,
The World
Is brighter than
The Noon of Day.
