A Youth's Prayer Poem by Runita R Menezes

A Youth's Prayer

No matter how unhappy you may be,
Make someone else happy and you’ll see,
That just knowing you are there,
Knowing that someone really cares,
Will make him forget his sorrows for a while,
And make him continue his life with a smile.

Help me Father that I may do,
All the things you want me to.
Help me Father that I may see,
With a Little more love what this world can be.
Give me tolerance, so that I may not grumble,
Rather continue on life’s path with zest doubled.

When someone’s in need, let me lend a hand.
Someone who is depressed let me understand.
Then when the lamps of life are burning low,
Because of the kindness I’ve shown I’ll know,
That my life is’nt in vain and knowing this I can say,
‘The world is happier that I have given my best today
