'Abatage' Poem by Shania K. Younce

'Abatage'

For things do fall.
Men do come.
They collect wood.
For they are the race called abatage.
For their hands take up axes.
For they start with twigs.
Then branches.
Then to the trunks.
For they have taken blade to trees.
For they are known as the race abatage.
