Abdullah Bin Ruwahah Poem by Ahmad Shiddiqi

Abdullah Bin Ruwahah

Rating: 3.0

piety
obedience
patience

faithful
selflessly
dedicated

a famous poet
a Prophet’s poet
venerable companion

against Byzantine
and Ghassanid Arab

in Battle of Mutah
being martyred

O my soul!
if you are not killed

you are bound
to die anyway

this is fate of death
overtaking you

what you have wished for
you have been granted

if you do what they’ve done
then you are rightly guided

To be honest, I like the second part of the poem rather than the first (first two stanzas) . There's not much to do as a reader with just one word adjectives. That probably could be flushed out more.
