Above The Mountain Crest Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Above The Mountain Crest

ABOVE THE MOUNTAIN CREST
From darkness now I'll nothing more
I've heard Salvation's voice
To inner peace I've found The Door
Where heart and soul rejoice

First like a fledgling in its nest
I failed to understand
But now above the mountain crest
I see The Promised Land

Through faith in Christ I'm rising high
Souring on eagle's wing
Above the clouds I often fly
The Lord life's song to sing

No nightingale can share my song
No swan is clad so white
To Heaven's Lamb I now belong
And so my heart takes flight

Wherever yet God's Wind may lead
What trials arise each day?
I know my God will meet the need
From grace to never stray

To ever-higher heights I'll rise
Thriving on bread and wine
The foe can herald no surprise
Since now The Truth is mine

I know too well whom I've believed
Can break the strongest chain
So rich the faith that I've received
His inner peace can reign

Such joy, but Christ alone can give
More strength can none receive
Through God's great love let's walk to live
And by His grace believe.....
