Absence Poem by Je'free Y .

Absence

Rating: 3.0

I can not lie about missing you -
From the invisible part of me
To my very physical surface.

The batting of my eyelashes misses you.

The big chunk of air inhaled into my lungs,
The diaphragm and rib muscles
Lamenting over your absence,
My respiratory, circulatory, skeletal,
And all other systems miss you.

Savor it in your surroundings: You're missed.
The grayish-white strand of hair
I am plucking off from the upper east
Of my head yearns for you.

The sparkle of these cuff-links longs for you.
My factory of ideas desires for you;
Also, my imaginary therapist.

Shadows in the chapel commiserate
With my prayer. My sad whispering, in need.
I watch Charlie Chaplin to be entertained;
Still, the wanting, and the aching.

This inventory of missing,
A world of lost-and-never found.
Imagining your red and white blood cells,
Your plasma and platelets, I speak to each
About my drama, ensuring each comprehends.
