Abstract Design Poem by Samantha Campbell

Abstract Design

Its was in the way
that you stood there
frozen like ice crystals
suspended in the air
clouding my eyes
with vapors of
iridescent
streams
until
I
lost
all sight
of vision there

Yet to far out
of my reach
in the distance
and so cold
upon my skin
that you raise pores
to speak a language
of eeriness
until I shiver

You deliver
the warmth
of impurities chill
causing my spine
to ache
from your
anesthesia
frigid words
that burn my lips
like dry ice and
I hunt for you
through the
fogginess of time
contently devouring
upon abstract designs
as space disintegrates
your facial features

You have
become
a figment
of what
was good
but no longer
tastes so sweet
when I swallow
hollow pain
twisting knots
that leave my frame
bound to the throbbing
sensations of loss

Your arctic words
cause my heart
to grieve
in a moment
of stand still
silence
as the violence
of constriction
contracts
causing
my sensations
to retract
into nothing

And feel
like the
leftover
remains of
thoughts burned
into piles of ashes
where syllables
smolder
the center
of ears
and eyes
drown
in the
waterfalls
of tears
because
Im
of no
importance
any longer

Just the
lingering
scent
of
once
upon
a time
when the aura
of sweet
used to exist
as soft
vibrations
kissed upon
the wrists
no longer
heard through
the mist of chaos
