Accusations Poem by Bryan Riley

Accusations

Child's laughter
fills a narrow
strip of white
paper
while I look on
with mock
interest
making small
sounds of
approval and
commenting:
'That's wonderful! '
which is so far
from the truth
as to seem
almost ludicrous
in its proportion
except to
the mind of
a child, who
accepts with tender
heart even the
accusations of
his elders
