Acoustic Stares Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Acoustic Stares

The first time my eyes met yours I felt the ground vibrate beneath my feet
Overtaken by the way our hellos were passed
I found great pleasure in the way sounds could vocalize such desire
smitten by the breath that tastes as vanilla to the lips
Only a few days have passed but I wonder you
Things that go on through your day things that pass through your mind
Stares found rushing the hours hoping to catch a glimpse of you once more
Acoustic stares that have yet to vocalize how much they wish you back
