Across The Water Poem by Hazel Durham

Across The Water

Rating: 3.7

She navigates on a stormy sea,
Of love washed waters,
The howling wind shouts out about her loss,
Her ex-lover the man she called the boss,

He held her so tight when her demons didn't give a toss,
Ravishing her mind with their darkness,
Of foes plotting against her,
Stealing her happiness with their smug smiles,

She sails across the sea for many miles,
Through the strewn killer rocks,
Then the boss mocked
For her self absorbtion with her door always locked,

Her foes ready to strike as she sows,
With her focus to succeed,
To reach her goal,
The sea is her strength as she watches a great shoal,

A dolphin befriends her with a smile on his face,
Flashing dark eyes,
Playful fun with the rising sun,
The boss left her because of her illness,

The dolphin returns her soul to lightness,
Of her childhood,
To feel the freedom
The riveting strength of her only chum,

The wildness of her untamed heart,
With the constant tragedy of her illness,
Trying to play her part,
Then the darkness destroys her lightness,

She is searching for an island in this sea of greatness,
A sanctuary of hope to bring the brightness,
For her again to feel sure,
To light her way across the water.

She is searching for an island in this sea of greatness, A sanctuary of hope to bring the brightness, For her again to feel sure, To light her way across the water. I hope she find the way across the water. Beautiful write.

Navigating on a stormy sea and proceeding ahead is definitely difficult. The dolphin returns her soul to lightness, Of her childhood, to feel the freedom this definitely strengthens thoughts of presentation in beautiful way. Each word dances with meaning and touches heart on reading. Nice poem shared really.

Across the wind tossed sea, she is navigating to cut across the rising waves and reach a safe shore or at least find an island! Any way she is not dispirited as she hopes that brightness will light her path! Even the sea creatures are quite amiable to her and she has the strength of the love of her 'boss'! Great write!

I love this dramatic quest for light across the stormy sea of life. How glad I am you chose a dolphin, my favourite animal, to be her friend and help her soul find its way. You and dolphins have something in common: a great empathy and compassion for others.

At least, a Dolphin shows her love; despite of her rough times a Dolphin brightens up her soul! Well done, Hazel!
