Acting Behind A Smile Poem by no voice only words

Acting Behind A Smile

Rating: 3.0

She'll act like it doesn't matter,
She'll act like she doesn't care,
She'll act like it doesn't affect her.
But it's all an just an act.
Because reality is,
those words are like switch blades.
They cut up the strings tieing her to her sanity.
one by one until she's hanging on by the last 3.
Then they all get cut in one swift movement of that spoken blade.
Everything floats away,
She can no longer breathe with everything going black,
Those strings that once kept her tied down now wrapping around her throat.
nothing comes out,
just as nothing goes in.
