Adam Poem by Elia Michael

Adam

Adam, I was just sitting and thinking
And for some reason you popped into my mind
And my thoughts went to Cyprus and drinking
Vodkas with fresh-squeezed orange juice combined

You stayed in my first Xylofagou flat
And we roamed Protaras and Napa too
Fools and Horses and Elvis and all that
I enjoyed that holiday there, did you?

Getting off the plane back in Mankyland
The air steward accused you of breaking wind
You angrily but firmly took your stand
As I walked quickly away having sinned
