Addiction Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Addiction

Rating: 5.0

Each breath is nourished by an overpowering love
In the flow of life it becomes amazingly magnetic
It’s an attraction that has an irresistible appeal
Thoughts become invigorated and very energetic

A habit extending to thoughts of pleasure and thrills
The craving is so strong it could be an affliction
Monotony moves out; fulfillment becomes a new tenant
Necessities are secondary compared to this addiction

In waking thoughts it is the first thing that enters
A mind that has been stilled and erased by sleep
It is the fuel that motivates and keeps me content
Poetry you are the sustenance I require and reap
