Addiction Poem by Shane Clift

Addiction

Rating: 5.0

These urges I have are hard to fight.
Addicted to something I do not want.
The temptation is there.
It flows through my veins.
A feeling of calm it does bring.
The happiness that overwhelms me makes my heart sing.
A dependency on something that should not have been.
To crave something you do not want can give you false feelings of what you need.
A fantasy realm of a happy existence.
Once you have had it its hard to let go.
I am human with a mortal soul.
